Paradise and Pennant Candied Fruit

Double Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Cherry Cookies

These soft and fudgy double chocolate chip cookies are studded with juicy maraschino cherries, inside and out. This 5 ingredient recipe is so easy to make and is perfect for Valentine’s Day or Christmas!



  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 box (432 grams/15 ounces) Devil’s food cake mix
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup  Paradise Cherries, drained and chopped


    • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
    • 2. In a large bowl combine butter and egg, and then slowly mix in the cake mix until the dough is formed. Fold in the chocolate chips and cherries.
    • 3. Drop 2 tablespoon balls of dough (8 per batch) onto a parchment lined baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart.
    • 4. Bake for 9 – 10 minutes.
    • *Cookies are done when the edges are set and the center is slightly under baked.
    • 5. Allow cookies to cool and set on the baking sheet for 15 minutes.
