Paradise and Pennant Candied Fruit

Orange Dream Cake Recipe

Rich, moist, and full of orange flavor, this dream cake is perfect to serve to guests, place on a dessert buffet, or to celebrate special events. Candied orange peel, instant vanilla pudding and sour cream transforms a simply orange cake mix into something amazing. When you need something special, but want to try something new, bake up this beauty and you won’t be disappointed.





  • 1 package Orange Cake Mix
  • 1 package (3.4oz.) vanilla instant pudding
  • 8oz. Candied Orange Peel
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract


  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour 1 tube pan or 2 small loaf pans. Dredge candied orange peel in flour.

Combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, oil, beat at medium speed with electric mixer, mix in candied fruit and pour into prepare pan or pans.

Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Cool in pan, and move to serving dish.

For Glaze combine powdered sugar and orange juice, drizzle on cooled cake.
